It may sound absolutely silly to talk about these basic facts, however, it is also shocking to know that how often most of the players get so much confused and forgets these basics. The first thing which you should always keep in mind is that the two cards that you hold in your hand are the only cards that can increase your chances to win the game and sets you apart from your opponents. Second important thing to remember is that all community cards are the face up cards and you should know the importance of these cards. All in all be careful and look out for the straights and flushes played by your opponents.

You should always play tight in a game of Texas Holdem poker which helps in providing an upper hand over the loose players. Try and get into loose games and you can assure yourself a certain win if your game play is tight. Most of the experienced Holdem Poker players believe that playing the hole cards in a later position can be much more profitable rather than playing them in the early stages. If a hole card is capable of earning profits in the early position, it will surely be able to earn more money in the later stages. The hole card which has caused losing of cash at an early stage is actually not worth trusting in any position.

Also, when you see that no one is raising and you are in a small blind, it probably will tempt you to call just to find out the flop. If you are holding weak hole cards, it is advisable to fold the hand and discard the blind set. Similarly, if you see that one of your opponents is raising and you find yourself in a big blind, smart move would be to fold if the cards are not strong enough. Keeping these small facts in mind and of course with experience you will be able to prove yourself as a strong competitor in this much loved game.
