A sensible poker room player will always prefer to wait and watch and have a feel of the game prior to taking the plunge in a particular game table. This will give them time to analyze each player and the tactics they follow in the game. It will also help to play accordingly and will be useful in the event of a showdown.

Sensible playing will never advocate you to rush for some quick poker session. This will only mean that you will keep adding to the pot for others to eat the cream! So you should set a time of at least an hour if not more.
